Oregon, USA; some impressions

Americans love their cars…

We saw birds of prey, both tiny cute ones…

and iconic majestic ones…

Magnificent scenery…

Even the teddy bears in USA are on a grand scale…

When one orders a hot apple cider in a cafe, this is handed to you and you are pointed in the direction of the urn…!

The people are so nice…  on my last day in Oregon Darci very kindly made time to drive out to the airport to meet me!  We had a lovely spontaneous sewing chat in the airport coffee shop in the short hour or so I had before we were flying out to Japan.
Thankyou so much, Darci, it was so great to meet you!  and thanks also for permission to put this photo up here!

  1. So great to meet you too, Carolyn!

And I have to confess, I'm kind of addicted to that instant hot apple cider. YUM!

  2. So, you flew to Oregon before you went to Japan? I'm confused. Oregon is the one state in the American west that I have not visited, but it is high on my list of places to go…because of it's primitive shoreline. I wish I could serve you a cup of warm cider, fresh from the apples at our local cider mill!

  3. It's so neat you had a chance to visit Oregon. I've spent nearly 26 years of my life there and miss it. Is that Crater Lake? You have some gorgeous winter shots.

  4. LOL @ the cider packet.
And geez those Hummer's are UGLY. I've seen a few here and they are such a "look at me I'm a tough macho man" car.
    The scenery looks amazing. 😀

  5. Your photo of Crater Lake is wonderful. I've only been there in the summer (when it is, by the way, as cold as ice to jump into), but I love the snow covered version.

I am so sorry for your instant apple cider experience. It is not a universal phenomenon at cafes in the states, but perhaps it was tasty and warming nonetheless! 😉
