Fun with Photoshop

I’ve got a version of Photoshop with which to experiment, and I found a really fantastic ombre tutorial here.  This photo has a single gradient layer added; (33.3% (Gradient Fill 1, RGB/8*)* … er, I don’t really know what that actually means, but hey…fyi) and I fiddled with it to have white at the bottom at 10% opacity, through violet, and khaki at the top at 70% opacity.
Soooo, tres moody and sorta apocalyptic, oui?
As we were…

  1. So fun … LOL, regarding your comment, my seam allowances are on the inside too, I use the three step zig-zag topstitching to catch those seam allowances ON THE INSIDE and force them to lie flat, rather than relying on pressing only. For some garments this is not a good look but for some it makes it much smoother IMO on the inside. For an example see here :

  2. I really need to take an entire class in Photoshop so I can discover all the possibilities. It's a very different photo with the addition of the ombre.

  3. Sorry, Carolyn, I didn't mean to cause offense. I was trying to make a joke, but it was actually meant as a compliment. I don't actually believe that you really manipulate all your images – who would have time for that AND to blog AND to sew? And you obviously do look good in your pictures. I shouldn't make jokes with people I don't know well…
