Full Moon, restyled

Wow!  As soon as I saw the re-styling suggestions in my comments I realised how right you all were… thank you!  I can see now my outfit was a wee bit on the frumpy side.  I guess I was being a lazy blogger; trying to kill two birds with one stone by forcing the two new things; the top and the skirt, together in one outfit and one post when they did not really want to be together… so I have taken your excellent advice to heart.
I agree, the Full Moon top does seem to appear far less weird and look a whole lot better worn with no Tshirt and a little skirt  :))
Thank you again!

  1. Yes! Looks so much better. Definitely an awesome top paired with something that makes it centre staged. 🙂
And I want to know, does your family think the top is OK now, worn like that? 🙂

  2. I absolutely love this outfit. I thought it was a dress when I first saw it in my news reader, and I hadn't seen the previous post yet so I was unbiased and it didn't occur to me that the top would be controversial… it seems to fit right in with your style.

  3. I looked at these two posts backwards, so I saw the second version first, and I was wondering how anyone could be critical of such a cute top and our stunning Carolyn. Then I went and looked at the first post, oh, um, I see now.

Stunning in this post, not so much in the first one. I love it with this skirt and no top underneath.

PS-I love your new skirt from your mom, I have been looking at that pattern since it first came out, now I know, it must be mine.

  4. Yeah!! That's what I'm talking about! Now you're doing you and that beautiful drape justice – very elegant! You look gorgeous! 🙂

  5. Hehe… I like it this way better on you 🙂 I was indeed thinking that the white tshirt under the top is making it all look bulky, but then again I wear things that way all the time 🙁 so

  6. Another thought(I know, I am not very organised with my thoughts today…blame it on a busy day) but have you tried this top with those lovely white jeans you made the other week?

  7. Well, amazing what a difference without the T and with the short skirt. It looks great now. We could even go out together to the shops!! Mum

  8. That is much better – more in proportion somehow. On the other hand, I don't think that's ever gonna be my favourite top. So what? You like wearing it, which is what matters.

  9. oooh yeah, I just looked at your last post …this one is so much nicer. It seems youthful and chic … I bet you will wear it now!

  10. I hadn't seen the first post of this top and thought it was fabulous – yet another piece of pattern magic magic. The second way to wear it looks fab – first not quite so.
I wish I was using my Pattern Magic books as much as you! (I seem to just read them in bed!)

  11. This styling wins! I imagine the garments out of this pattern book are more like works of art than totally functional pieces of clothing. Must be a fun creative process to make them.

  12. Oh I really love this top, such a pretty neckline! It's amazing how proportions can really change a look, right? Great pairing. It'd also look amazing with long and slim trousers perhaps tucked in and blousing about.
