16th – 20th March
(I’ve pledged to wear only clothes handmade by me this year and to sketch my daily outfits in my Fashionary.  I’m calling this the paper doll project)

from left:
blue chambray dress + ecru scarf
red silk ballgown
blue Pattern Magic top + hot pink shorts
white top with self necktie + red floral skirt
Japanese print dress
aqua dress with wave-y welted pockets

Definition of “fun”:  a old-school glamour-fest …  we attended a friend’s Oscars themed birthday party last weekend.  I frocked up! and so did everyone else.  It was pretty fantastic to have an opportunity to wear one of my ballgowns again, and I just love the rich and royal crimson rustling that comes with this one  ðŸ™‚ Makes me feel a bit Downton Abbey or something.
My husband wore his tuxedo.  Oh my: is there any sexier attire for a man than a well-tailored suit?? (fans oneself) I do not think so!!
The temps and humidity is easing off as of today, which is pretty fab.  I’m getting a bit bored with my summer clothes and I’m looking forward to branching out!

  1. I just noticed that you put the weather next to each outfit – I like that (weather obsessive that I am) and I always love to see outfit number 5, aqua dress with wavy pockets. one of my favorites. classic with a clever twist.

  2. Love that red dress, I nearly purchased that pattern for my wedding dress, it looks fabulous in that colour. Couldn't agree more a man in a suit.

  3. This is such a great idea. I follow what you wear and its so funny to know exactlybwhat is in someone elses wardrobe. At the end of summer you'll be able to analyse exactly what you wore the most so can see what's REALLY getting worn instead of what you think you wear the most. You're such a clever clogs.

  4. As I live in Canada, I'm grateful to be heading towards summer and away from winter! Thout I'd write (a first) to let you know I regularly read your posts. Your sewing is inspiring, and this top is gorgeous. Indeed, it's the seaming that takes it over the top. This pattern never quite tickled my fancy but I had never noticed all that seaming! Great job!

  5. An Oscar themed birthday party sounds like fun! I'll have to keep the idea for my next round birthday, perhaps. 😀
By the way, lady luck (aka my boyfriend) pulled your name out of the hat for the winter fabric in my giveaway! If you email me your mailing address, I'll do my best to have the package underway for you, soon. You can send it to aldara at gmx dot net. Hope you'll have fun with the fabric!
