21st – 26th March
(I’ve pledged to wear only clothes handmade by me this year and to sketch my daily outfits in my Fashionary. I’m calling this the paper doll project)
from left:
refashioned denim skirt + blue denim top
leatherette skirt, crushed silk top, striped jersey scarf
sand capri pants, white drape-y top, coffee net cardigan
outfit refashioned from 3 old mens business shirts
powder blue dress + tunic top
purple jeans, white Tshirt, refashioned corduroy hoodie
ummm, if anyone is bored with my paper doll project or fed up with having their blog reader of choice filled up with posts of it; then please sing out, I won’t be offended it it is all getting a bit dull and repetitive. I mean, I am going to continue sketching my daily outfits this year, just for my own fun anyway, and I intend to do a bit of statistical analysis on my wardrobe choices at at the end; but I don’t want to inflict it on everyone.
When I started posting these it was just a sorta notification that I was doing it more than anything else, and I did not expect any sort of enthusiastic response.
I’ve got no idea if anyone is actually finding the constant updates interesting at all, or whether my blog is becoming as boring as all get-out and you are all just very very polite.
🙂

I actually like seeing these sketches every week! They are very charming.
I like seeing them too! It is really interesting to me how you dress for your weather. Our climates are so different but have some similarities, (like hot hot weather)but you dress for the heat completely different than I do. I don't know if it is just the extremes in our Canadian/Australian temperatures, or if it is just personal preference. (does that make any sense?)I also like to see how you wear your creations, and keeping a record of each outfit shows how well each item fits into your daily activities/wardrobe and how often it is worn. It is also fun to see you wear pieces that you blogged about a year or two ago, that I remember reading about then. It is somehow comforting that I am not the only one that wears my hand mades for years after I make them. I have rambled on here in order to make one simple statement. Please keep posting! lol
I love to see your sketches too! Please keep sharing them.
I like your refashioned outfits, I sometimes do this, I recently made a rucksack for my daughter from jeans that worked well.
I think the paper doll project is great. I love looking at them.
Personally I tend to skim over these posts… but clearly others enjoy them and you should post what you want to post. It's your blog, after all!
I like your sketches too. Maybe it's because I can't draw NOTHING and I'm a little envious of those who can.
Count me in as one who enjoys the sketches. I wish I had the patience to do something similar. I think it's a great resource. I like to mix and match a lot, but then I forget the successful outfits. I also like the fact that when I look at your sketches, I see you in them. The croquis really resembles you.
I don't always read every word of the paper doll posts, but I do enjoy looking at the sketches to see if I recognize any of the outfits.
Starting to cool down a bit in Perth I see. I thought it was cooling in Sydney but I think it changed its mind. Again. I love those capris on you but you don't often wear them. Too hot or do you just not fancy them much? Too me, they look very sleek and sophisticated, kinda Audrey Hepburn. On you at least. My capris kin of look like I went to work by mistake on my way to the beach. But what can I say? Too hot for trousers in non air conditioned classrooms but the legs aren't so hot in shorts! By the way, I find your paper doll project fascinating.
Thank you so much Rebecca 🙂
I love those capris too, but it has truly been too hot for them up until now. I expect they will get more airings now the autumnal weather is slowly coming. Slowly, since all last week was over 30C again (sigh)
I like to see your drawings! I suspect I am a little nosey 😉 !
I like seeing your drawings and love the links back to the photos of the pieces they refer to. It has been very inpiring and is how I found the pleated blouse I am in the process of making in a hankerchief linen thanks to your help and advice 😉 I love your blog and wish you to continue as you do.
I like the sketches, especially when I see a ball gown thrown in 🙂
I love these sketches and I wish I could draw like that, never mind the sewing. 😉
Oh, and forgot to add: I love the weather info right next to each outfit.
Thank you so much all, for the vote of confidence 🙂
I like your sketches too. Mostly because I am jealous because my sketching skills are non-existent!
