Blue on blue on blue…

The front-on view of a garment is the conventional, possibly the only acceptable way we are expected to show our outfits.  The Comme des Garcons A/W 2012 show, with a report by Tim Blanks, provided a fresh and provocative commentary on this phenomenon.   In that spirit: personally I like the back view of this cardigan I am wearing here.  I think it is more interesting.

My daily activities included housecleaning, the day’s highlight of a short walk on the beach, followed by hours of driving, then more housework.  It’s been one of those days.  I’m tired.

Thank you so much for the helpful suggestions yesterday.  I’ve checked out the links everyone recommended and especially found helpful the articles on blog-scraping recommended by ElleC.  I’ve also removed the link to the bogus blog from my post on the excellent advice of finishedgarment.  I am working on my complaint via that blogger form.   Thanks again, everybody.  Your kind support was and is, very much appreciated  ðŸ™‚

  1. I think this pattern magic cardigan is one of my favourites. It works so well in that colour and with the chambray. I may just have to get Pattern Magic.

  2. Gosh you wear loose, easy clothes like this so well! That top is so interesting. I looked through the Pattern Magic books and felt like the clothes just weren't wearable for me, but seeing all that you've done is making me want to check them out again.

  3. Wonderful clothes, Carolyn. Glad you got rid of that link, and are filing a complaint a/g the pilfering blog.I understand how upsetting it is! I'm going to post about veggies again, my urge to sew and post and do tutorials is really worn out at this point.

  4. I completely agree about back views. Most clothes are very boring from the back which I think is a shame. After all you have your face at the front so you don't need masses of interest there. An interesting back view adds a dimension that most clothes don't have.

  5. Looks great. MMM is going well for you as expected. I read in a blog yesterday about a company call Need Supply. Have you heard of it? The clothes have CarolynS written all over them. Lots of sludgy neutrals. Which you look great in:)

  6. I'd love to be hanging around the sand with thongs on. It's a bit chilly today.
I agree that clothes should be featured from more than 1 angle.
With all that work and sorting out that pilferer, no wonder you're tired.

  7. I agree about back views. I think that an interesting back can be the thing that sways me to make (or, er, buy) a garment. The back view of your top looks lovely, thank you for sharing it with us.

  8. Do you think – I like this top from both front and back! Although, I always like to see the back view as it can have a great impact on the garment 🙂
