water

One of my favourite things about the me-made months are the photo theme days.  Today’s theme is Water! aaaand I suspect I’m totally failing in creativity here and displaying nought but amazing predictability, but I can think of no better excuse for me to take Sienna to Dog Beach, which is only, like, her very favourite place in the whole wide world.  I know, shouldn’t need an excuse, right?  But sometimes, we do.
In other news, today I am being interviewed over at Seamstress Erin, on, what else? but our shared love of style and sewing.
Thank you Erin!  πŸ™‚

Capris; Vogue 1115, sand stretch sateen, details and my review of this pattern here
Thongs; Havaianas

My family is sorta? keeping up in the me-made fashion stakes, Craig is wearing this shirt again today.  I’m thinking my “keep quiet and let it organically happen” approach is not going to lead to much variety in this side of things.

Speaking of water, and the ocean, and freaky things; oh sorry, we weren’t?  Oh well, we are now… check out this deep deep sea creature
How freaky?!

  1. This is exactly the sort of picture I was hoping you'd post today πŸ™‚ It (almost) takes care of my yearning for a beach walk lol!

And if I were a man who wore dress shirts, I would be wearing that one as often as I could!

  2. Oh, and that deep sea THING? It's not real, right? Please tell me it isn't real!?!

    • oh lordy – I looked for it (I'm a bit of a research nerd about questionable postings…)- it IS real! It's called a "Goblin Shark". *shiver*

  3. Love your interview over at Seamstress Erin. Her blog is new to me, I'll definitely be going back to check it out further.

    That sea creature is horrible!

  4. I love the color of that blouse more every time I see it!

  5. I love the picture you posted today. Also, I have the pattern for the top you are wearing but am terrified of joining all those French seams. Maybe a project for the summer Hols, when I can take my time πŸ™‚
Btw it is warming up here in England! We are expecting highs of 15C today!!!!

  6. OMG that beach is just beautiful – oh to have that on my doorstep to take the dog for a walk, jealous me, yep….. love the bright burnt orange against the blue of the sea – stunning.

  7. Carolyn pleassseeeee….IΒ΄m looking out the window and itΒ΄s raining again…You look fabolous and this blue sea is spectacular! Love it!

  8. Love what you're wearing! I've got that pattern and each time I see you wearing yours it makes me want to make it even more. Must get onto that.

And, that creature is really freaky =:D

  9. Love this outfit and Roscoe would love us to be that close to a beach!

  10. Hmmm, I like your top! Wish I had more time to sew some travel garments… I'd like to wear something that light overseas! x

  11. I do love beaches and blue seas, but not the critters that live in them…particularly not those off the coast of Australia. I see shark nets and I'm not comforted at all! That goblin shark is one odd looking character, that's for sure. The video is really creepy I think because you think that top part is the upper part of the usual shark face, but then all these teeth shoot out unexpectedly and it looks like the thing has two faces. V. weird indeed. I'm glad they are very deep sea creatures, but it was interesting that a few were sighted soon after an earthquake.

  12. That top is such a glorious colour! You do manage to take the most amazing pictures.

  13. Orange and blue aaargh, that's a gorgeous photo! I didn't even know about the "themes" in MMM… Off to research… πŸ™‚

  14. ohhh, nice photo, especially since I live in the high desert πŸ™‚ Thanks for the creepy vid also. I enjoyed it many times.

  15. Now THAT is a water picture – great outfit – creepy creature!

  16. Those colors look great on you contrasting with the blue sea … Beautiful!

  17. You have the most perfect wardrobe.

  18. This is the perfect setting for a great water picture.
    Is that creature CGI?
    Great interview too.

  19. Great photo, great beach, great outfit, great color, outfit+color+sky+sea+composition of photo = great joy for me! & where is that pattern I want to try ……
    Thanks so much! JS

  20. I love your version of this top and the fabric you chose. I am looking forward to making it today. Thank you for your review of the pattern!

  21. All of your versions of this pattern has encouraged me to buy this pattern. I love them! Now I just need to find the right fabric…none of my stash is really suitable. Oh, what's that? I need to go fabric shopping @_@???

Also, I'd like to venture that Siena is a dog of awesomeness and therefore photographing anywhere she likes is a great idea πŸ˜‰

  22. Love your orange top. And your dog is so cute!
