A hasty pruning before an imminent downpour

It’s too early for pruning, technically speaking.  Purists would tut.
But I figured the rain was just about to decimate them anyway.  It was a rescue mission.

So; y’know that moment when you’re poised in the act of clicking the shutter on your perfectly lovely and Hallmark-worthy still-life of Blooms with Pretty Tea-cup  … ?

  1. It is just about to pour here too, what a timely rescue mission. Your flowers are beautiful, but I do like your photobomber ;).

  2. I think it's perfectly right to take the flowers off before the rain comes, particularly with such lovely roses. You gotta loves boys who photobomb!

  3. The photobomber made it a Hallmark moment! Gotta love a family with sense of humour and playful spirt, it made for my favourite photo of the bunch. Oh and roses matching that tea cup perfectly made for a great photo too.

  4. They're beautiful! I think when I get my own place, I'm going to have to plant rose bushes because no one seems to believe me when I say how much I love them.

  5. I do understand having a photo bomber in the house:) I'm so glad you brought your beautiful roses in from the rain. Thank you for sharing them.

  6. Love it! Aren't kids great! Your roses are gorgeous and look similar to our Peace Roses we grow here. Though ours don't bloom anywhere near as prolific as it looks like you're lucky to have.

  7. Pretty, pretty! What kind of rose is it? I never pick mine anymore because the cats decimate and drag around the house anything I put in vases, sniff.

  8. They are gorgeous!! Definitely appropriate for Hallmark. If I could do moving gifs I'd have those two pix flashing back in forth (one with your photobomber and one without).

  9. LOVE those gorgeous pink, peach, and orange colors. Roses don't do so well here, but every year I have to dash out and save our beautiful peonies before they get smashed down to the ground by a heavy rainfall.

  10. Those are so gorgeous! I just loved the downpour we had and so did the garden…and so did the weeds 🙂
