What uuuup?!
I was planning to do something else for today, but when my son informed me last night that today was International Suit Up Day, well, how could I not? Barney is our family’s favourite character from How I Met Your Mother, and his sayings are oft quoted around our house, er and not just by me.
So I hope everybody else is suitable suited up for a business-like day, and no, I don’t think that includes tracksuits, people. C’mon. Even if you don’t wear a suit on a daily basis, and I certainly don’t, even if it’s months or perhaps years since you “suited up”, go and dig up that dusty old thing from its hanger, release it from its dry cleaner’s bag and pop it on. Just for the day, and just for fun!
My suit is looking a little dated now, and I’m thinking I need to tailor a replacement, but this project will have to go to the end of a very long list of projects I have mapped out…
As for my photo, well I’m supposed to be climbing the corporate… oh, I’m sure you get it. A metaphor pictorialised.
Just a few other updates;
My youngest son is home, safe and sound; and it is so nice to have him back with us and everything feels normal again with us all back in the house, I feel so much more relaxed when all my chicks are back in the nest…
And thankyou so much for your lovely comments yesterday for my giveaway. A few have commented and don’t want to go into the draw for the goodies; that’s totally cool too, and I understand that lots of people have a full pattern collection already and I’m just thrilled that you took the time to comment. It sounds cheesy but each and every comment gives me such a buzz and I look forward to reading my comments with huge excitement everyday… truly.
The giveaway is just something to mark the day, and my way of saying thanks to you for reading.

I just love the creativity of your photos! A truly creative mind on all fronts.
Love it!
That's too good! Love those shoes!
You look very smart (sharp) in your suit. Your creativity is astounding. This picture should be in an article in a business magazine about climbing the corporate ladder. I just love it. Thanks so much for visiting my art blog.
Carolyn, you look perfect in your suit! I don't OWN a suit. Boy–I just don't like them on my body type at all. But I will sit and admire how classy you look and perhaps help my daughter, who DOES look great in one, to sew a new one.
I hope you don't mind, but I did a post about your blogiversary giveaway along with my own. I had been mulling over doing this in the next week or so, so it was a great way, present it, first by sending them to your contest and then by telling them about mine too. My contest isn't until Nov. 1st.
Again, Happy Blogiversary! You have a gorgeous and inspiring blog!! I'm so glad I finally found you. (Thanks Trudy!!)
Your newest fan!!

Trudy is right–you should model!
I love my comments too. 🙂 Makes you feel like you aren't blogging in a void …
fun! who knew today was that … I think yours is fine … and I love your creative photo ops! At one point I thought i would always be a career woman (though in education it is a bit different than climbing that ladder … though I was on track to teach the AP classes at one point … but got married and moved … ) I do have a grey suit – I'm a little smaller now so both parts are a bit big – I still wear them as separates but have hardly ever worn them together! Wonder what Kevin and Gideon would say if I did that?!
I have that blazer pattern in my queue … I want to do a brown one. Hopefully I'll get to it this winter.
Glad your boy is back … Kevin should be back in just a few hours, and I'll be so glad to have him home…
Oh, and congrats on your blogoversary! your photos are quite lovely now 🙂
I like the name of the photo. You manage to get such catchy phrases. The outfit looks very professional. I wish I could do jackets like that
