Chocolat

This is another dress made years ago, that periodically gets worn a lot, and periodically gets shoved into the back of the wardrobe because I’m tired of it, only to periodically rediscover it with cries of joy when those hot hot days roll around again, as they are.   Another little mini heat-wave is happening, so it’s back with the coolest of cool of my dresses.
This has always been called in my head the Bouchee dress.
Just to explain; you can get chocolates here called Bouchee, which are shaped like elephants, hehe…
Rather a silly name… but I like silliness in apparel sometimes.

Details:
Dress; based on McCalls 4454, a camisole pattern, elongated and with large triangular inserts in the skirt, handkerchief hem and two huge square patch pockets added, chocolate self-embroidered cotton
Necklace; made by me, tutorial here
Sandals; Anna, from MarieClaire shoes
Sunnies; RayBan
Nail varnish; Bright Light, BYS

  1. Olá, seu vestido é lindo, parece muito confortavel e fresco. Mas o que mais gostei foi o fundo da sua foto. Que lugar é este!? Parece um paraíso.

  2. Oh, I share your joy of discovering that chocolate beautiful dress again, what a great find, very romantic. Love, love your necklace, I'm tempted to "steal" you the idea.

  3. You look so very elegant.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I'm feeling great. I've been exercising and really taking care of myself. I want to do a post so badly. My husband hasn't had time to give me some pictures he took of me. I'm hoping he will do that tonight or tomorrow. They are pictures of my baby bump. I am wearing a flowy chiffon dress in my cowgirl boots on a white front porch. Can't wait to share them.

  4. love the pockets!

thanks for your comment re pattern magic, i had a poke about your archives aswell as checking out your twist top on SSS flickr group!

i'm going to try out the top with the bow/ties at the front, going for the 4th variation first, and them i like the sleeves with the holes as well, so many possibilities 🙂

  5. I love rich dark brown (And chocolate! mmm, might have to go snag some chips from the fridge 🙂 ) but I usually think of it as a cooler weather color. I think it is lovely for warm weather!
