Get shorty

Feeling stunned at the tsunami in Japan; relieved that my friends there are OK while simultaneously horrified at the devastating footage we’ve seen…
Briefly; this morning, this dress still looked like this
Frumpy, yes?  I just felt dowdy.
So it got some ruthless treatment.
I’m sure I’ll wear it a lot more like this.

  1. Lovely. The lace is such a sweet touch. Glad to hear your friends are ok and my thoughts go out to all those who have lost loved ones in the disaster.

  2. Love the shortened version. And I don't think you could look bad in anything even if you tried.

I am so saddened by the disaster as well. So much devastation. Those poor people. So glad to hear that your friends made it through.

  3. Yes, I was watching the live footage last night of the tsunami and worrying about folks I know in Japan. It was UNREAL. So glad Yoshimi and others I know are well, but it's a terrible disaster.

I like that dress better shorter, and I liked it before. The proportions are more pleasing to the eye.

  4. The lace addition is great. A perfect touch. I can see that shortening the dress makes it a lot more wearable. The longer length is pretty, but sort of daytime formal, and most of us don't have that many weddings and garden parties to go to! 🙂

My thoughts are also with Japan at the moment.

  5. Your dress looks better shorter, it's amazing how a hem length can make a garment look so different.

Thank you for entering the giveaway, it's such a shame you are not able to get Colinette yarns from more stores. I'm very lucky, as I live about 7 miles away from the Colinette Mill and shop – so living in Wales does have some advantages, lol.

  6. I liked the original version, but I must say, the new length looks loads better. Feeling frumpy is bad for the psyche – can't have that.

  7. Beautiful dress, the short version is much sweeter, clothing earned extra points with this modification. What is happening in the world?? My thoughts are with all these countries in the disaster.

  8. I like the old version too, but shortening it makes it an entirely different dress – very wearable, I think.

Re: the scientist personality. I scratched my head at the INTJ as a natural leader too. Maybe it's that they enjoy teaching people (so that they can do it on their own and leave the INTJ alone, hehe) or maybe they're charging ahead with a problem and people just happen to be following them!
