Hoo boy, it’s been so hot lately! and this is such a busy time of year, plus I have a whole host of things to do and make before Christmas and all I want to do is read and/or flop into the pool …. but no time for that just yet!
This will be my penultimate paper doll post, and I have started jotting down the thoughts in my head about the whole obsessive practice of making ALL my own clothes/avoiding ALL RTW things…  a happy lifestyle choice that is both accountable and self-sustainable while embracing and finding an outlet for my inner creative? or merely self-inficted craziness!?
The jury is still out…. but at the moment I’m leaning towards craziness  ðŸ˜‰

10 Thoughts on “the paper doll project

  1. You're almost done!

  2. I've never been able to get my head around Christmas in hot weather, but just thinking about all the extra stuff that 'has' to get done and putting that together with 40 degree weather makes me think I'd rather not…on top of it just being strange. It sounds utterly exhausting! Taking a sewing class, on top of holiday preparations and hiring a personal training as well as trying to get back into running…perhaps I've over done it a bit?! I'm managing most of it, but the sewing is what suffers, sadly. As I was looking through some of your links to the pieces you're wearing just now, I was wondering if you missed any of your RTW items or if you were happy with just your own-made things. I'm certain that wearing your own things has emphasised your own personal style. On the other hand, I sometimes feel that more than one 'unique' item is too much for me. Look forward to reading about your reflections on this project!

  3. Honestly, I don't know how you continue to document this so faithfully. I would have got lazy 5 minutes in. Your sketches are always gorgeous and I can't believe you chart the weather?!

  4. What a year. I've enjoyed watching your journey, but I can understand if the documentation doesn't continue at the same pace.

I had to click to see how you represented the sequined silver skirt. Very clever!

  5. Is that tin foil I see to represent the silver sequined skirt? Fantastic. I love it when blogs give me a laugh out loud moment.

You're dedication to this project is seriously inspiring. Can't wait to read about your thoughts on the whole undertaking!

  6. I do like these Paper Doll Project pages. But it's cold and snowy here in Tulsa, so I am going to remind myself to look back at these when it's Summer here (July) and I can fully appreciate them.

  7. Please let us know what the verdict is once the jury is in…..life is too short to figure it all out on your own.

  8. Wow, your designs are just gorgeous and inspirational. I can't believe you have sewn so many of them already!!

  9. If you ever decide to share those thoughts I would be interested to hear them…it's something I think about a lot myself. I really want to sew everything but struggle with time and sometimes health. It's my dream though! Doesn't your fashioinary look pretty at the moment, with all those lovely summery colours creeping in!
